Domaine Collotte Marsannay Blanc 2023

Domaine Collotte Marsannay Blanc comes from the only Côte d'Or village allowed to make wine in all three colours.

Marsannay is the northernmost village appellation of the Côte de Nuits and the sole commune on the Côte d'Or entitled to produce red, white and rosé under its village name. Whites make up a small proportion of the plantings and come mainly from the upper, stonier parcels where limestone and scree replace the deeper clay that suits Pinot Noir. Chardonnay grown here keeps a firm, chalky structure and rarely runs to fat. Domaine Collotte is a family estate based in the village with holdings across its lieux-dits. The white is fermented and raised largely in barrel, with new wood kept to a minimum, and given time on fine lees for texture.

Firm, dry and lightly textured, it suits poultry, river fish and hard mountain cheeses; serve at around 12 degrees.
