Domaine Collotte Marsannay Les Grasses Têtes is a single lieu-dit red from the top of the Côte de Nuits, offered here in half bottle.

Les Grasses Têtes is a named lieu-dit on the slope at Marsannay and one of the sites regularly put forward when the commune's growers press for premier cru status. Marsannay is the northernmost village appellation of the Côte de Nuits, recognised only in the late nineteen eighties, and the only commune on the Côte d'Or permitted to make red, white and rosé under its own name. The vineyards lie over limestone scree and clay, cooler ground than the villages further south, and the reds have a firm, dark fruited character with tannins that repay a few years in bottle. Domaine Collotte is a family estate in the village farming a spread of parcels across the appellation as well as in Fixin and Gevrey-Chambertin.

Firm and dark fruited, and in this format a practical size for two, it suits beef, duck and mushroom dishes; serve at around 16 degrees.
