Domaine Couturier Mâcon-Fuissé 2022

Domaine Couturier Mâcon-Fuissé comes from the same commune that gives its name to Pouilly-Fuissé.

Mâcon-Fuissé is the Mâcon-Villages appellation for the commune of Fuissé, covering parcels that fall outside the more prestigious Pouilly-Fuissé boundary or are made in a more immediate style. The vineyards lie beneath the limestone rock of Solutré on clay and limestone soils with good south and east exposures, and Chardonnay reaches full ripeness in this warm southern pocket of Burgundy. Domaine Couturier farms organically nearby at Loché and works across several of the appellations of the Mâconnais. The wine is made without heavy extraction or obvious new oak, aiming for texture and drinkability rather than power, and is intended to be enjoyed within a few years of release.

Generous and softly textured, it suits roast chicken, pork and vegetable gratins; serve at around 11 to 12 degrees.
