Domaine Couturier Pouilly-Fuissé Clos Scellés is a single walled parcel from the leading appellation of the Mâconnais.

Pouilly-Fuissé takes in four communes beneath the great limestone crags of Solutré and Vergisson and is the most serious appellation of the Mâconnais, promoted in recent years to include a tier of premiers crus. The soils are limestone, marl and clay, and the amphitheatre of slopes offers a wide range of exposures and altitudes, so single parcel bottlings such as Clos Scellés have become increasingly common. Domaine Couturier is an organically farmed estate a short distance away at Loché. Chardonnay ripens more fully here than anywhere else in Burgundy, and the wine is raised with restrained use of barrel to build texture without covering the underlying stoniness.

Rich, structured and capable of several years in bottle, it suits lobster, veal and poultry in cream; serve at around 12 degrees.
