Domaine Daniel Bouland Morgon Corcelette Vieilles Vignes Cailloux, in magnum, is drawn from old vines rooted in the stoniest part of the Corcelette lieu-dit.

Corcelette sits in the hilly Haut-Morgon sector to the north-west of the appellation, where granitic sand produces wines of scent and rounder tannin than the schist-marked terroirs closer to the Côte du Py. Daniel Bouland has long divided his holdings here by soil, and since the 2019 vintage the differences have been spelled out on the labels. The Cailloux cuvée comes from the rockier ground, its vines only marginally younger than the very old plantings used for the Sable bottling, and the site delivers a slightly firmer, more structured Morgon. Farming is meticulous and yields are low; fermentation is natural and uses whole bunches, with the must foot-trodden to prolong the ferment, and the wine is bottled without fining. The domaine regards the two Corcelette cuvées as equals rather than a hierarchy.

Give it two or three years and drink over the following decade, lightly chilled, with roast pork, duck or aged cheeses. Serve at 14-16°C.
