Domaine Daniel Dampt Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet 2024

Domaine Daniel Dampt Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet is an unoaked Chardonnay from a steep premier cru slope in the north of Burgundy.

Milly, the village directly below this hillside, is home base for the Dampt family, who over three generations have become one of the bigger owners of top-tier vineyard on the Serein's left bank. The slope is narrow and faces south-east, on the fossil-laced Kimmeridgian marl that defines the appellation, and it gives some of its most tightly wound wines. Nothing here sees oak: the fruit is whole-bunch pressed, fermented and aged in stainless steel, with time on lees for texture.

Bone-dry and cutting, with green apple, lemon and a chalky, faintly saline finish. Serve at 10–12°C with oysters, scallops or goat's cheese.
