Domaine de l'Arlot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots comes from a premier cru set between the grand crus of Richebourg and Echézeaux.

Les Suchots is among the largest and most highly regarded premier crus of Vosne-Romanée, sitting mid-slope with Richebourg and Romanée-Saint-Vivant on one flank and Echézeaux on the other, on relatively deep clay over limestone scree. Its wines tend to carry the spice and dark fruit of the village with a fleshier middle than neighbouring sites. Domaine de l'Arlot is based well to the south at Prémeaux-Prissey, in a property put together by the merchant Jules Belin from 1891 and owned by AXA Millésimes since 1987; the Suchots parcel and the Romanée-Saint-Vivant were bought in 1991. Farming has been organic since 2000 and biodynamic since 2003. Géraldine Godot, in charge since 2014, ferments on indigenous yeasts with whole bunches when the stems allow, keeps extraction gentle and ages in barrel with a restrained proportion of new oak.

Give it time in the cellar and it will drink well over a long window. Serve at 16-18°C with roast venison, duck breast or a mushroom tart.
