Domaine de la Grenaudière 'Grenaudière' Muscadet is a dry, saline Loire white from Melon de Bourgogne, in a 375ml half bottle.

Only one grape is allowed in the appellation, a neutral, early-ripening variety that gets its character from site and lees ageing. The estate farms established vineyards in this heartland where the Loire meets the Atlantic, and picks early to keep acidity. After a gentle pressing and cool ferment in tank, the wine sits on its fine lees over winter, the sur lie method behind its faint prickle, bready depth and texture. No oak, and modest alcohol.

Bone-dry and bracing, the classic oyster wine. Serve at 8–10°C with shellfish, whitebait, fish and chips or goat's cheese. The half bottle is right for one, or for a single course.
