Domaine de la Grenaudière 'Grenaudière' Muscadet Clisson 2019

Domaine de la Grenaudière 'Grenaudière' Muscadet Clisson is a medium-bodied Loire white from Melon de Bourgogne, with long lees ageing behind it.

Since 2011 this cru communal of Sèvre et Maine has had its own status, for wines grown on coarse granite south-east of Nantes and aged at least two years on fine lees. That gives weight and texture well beyond the standard appellation. The estate works old vines on the granite around Maisdon-sur-Sèvre, picking at full ripeness, pressing gently and fermenting in glass-lined underground vats, with no oak at any stage.

Broader than the usual style, with saline depth and a dry, chalky finish. Now at a good point; serve at 10–12°C with oysters, grilled fish, roast pork or clams.
