Domaine de Poutéou Bas Armagnac 200ml 2000

Domaine de Poutéou Bas Armagnac is a single-vintage brandy from Armagnac's finest sub-region, in south-west France.

The sables fauves, or tawny sands, of the western Gers give spirits more finesse and perfume than the clay-limestone parts of the region. Thin, high-acid wine, mainly from Ugni Blanc with Baco, Folle Blanche and Colombard, is distilled in the winter after harvest, once and continuously, which yields a lower-strength spirit with more of the grape's flavour. Gascon black oak casks then take over for many years, and nothing from other years is blended in.

Rich and dry at 46% alcohol, with prune, dried orange peel and oak spice. Serve it neat at room temperature in a tulip glass as a digestif, alongside dark chocolate, walnuts or a mature blue cheese.
