Description
Domaine des Aubuisières Bernard Fouquet Vouvray Sec is a dry white wine from the Loire Valley, built entirely from Chenin Blanc grown on the celebrated slopes of the Vouvray appellation.
Vouvray sits on the north bank of the Loire near Tours, where a mix of clay-flint and clay-limestone soils over a bed of tuffeau limestone gives Chenin Blanc its signature combination of ripeness and searing acidity. Bernard Fouquet built Domaine des Aubuisières into one of the appellation's benchmark estates, farming some 28 hectares of Chenin Blanc across a range of terroirs to produce styles spanning bone-dry to lusciously sweet. The domaine is now continued by Charles Lesaffre, who trained alongside Fouquet for many years before taking over, maintaining the estate's meticulous, terroir-driven approach.
Made in the Sec style, this is a dry, mineral-driven Chenin Blanc built for versatility at the table, an excellent partner for seafood, poultry and lighter, fresh-flavoured dishes.
