Description

Domaine des Carlines Côtes du Jura Pinot Noir is a light, fresh red from a small family domaine in France's Jura.

Patrick Ligeron was born in the Jura and, after studying wine in Beaune and working elsewhere, returned in 2015 with his wife Sophie to establish their domaine at Menétru-le-Vignoble. The village sits in the heart of the Château-Chalon area, where grey marl soils give wines with freshness and a saline edge. The vines are farmed organically, grapes are picked by hand and the winemaking is low-intervention. Pinot Noir has long been grown in the Jura alongside the local Poulsard and Trousseau, and it makes delicate, fragrant reds here.

Serve slightly cool, around 14 to 16 degrees, with roast chicken, charcuterie or a Comté and mushroom tart.
