Domaine des Carlines Poulsard Côtes du Jura 2024

Domaine des Carlines Poulsard Côtes du Jura is a pale, fragrant red made from the Jura's own Poulsard grape.

Poulsard, also called Ploussard, is a thin-skinned variety found almost only in the Jura, where it makes pale, aromatic reds with real charm. Patrick and Sophie Ligeron grow it around Menétru-le-Vignoble, where they founded their domaine in 2015 on the grey marl slopes near Château-Chalon. Grapes are picked and destemmed by hand, and earlier vintages were aged in large 500-litre barrels. Expect juicy raspberry and red fruits with soft, fine tannins.

Serve cool, around 13 to 15 degrees, with charcuterie, roast poultry or a smoked sausage and lentil dish.
