Domaine du Bel Air Bourgueil Les Vingt Lieux-Dits 2022

Domaine du Bel Air Bourgueil Les Vingt Lieux-Dits is a Cabernet Franc assembled from a spread of the estate's individual vineyard parcels.

Bourgueil is a mosaic of named plots, running from the sandy gravel terraces beside the Loire up to the tuffeau limestone slope beneath the wooded plateau. Rather than isolate a single site, this cuvee draws on a wide set of the domaine's lieux-dits so that the terrace parcels bring fruit and suppleness while the slope parcels bring structure and length. The vines at Domaine du Bel Air are farmed organically at Benais, ploughed and hand harvested. Fermentation is with indigenous yeast, maceration is measured, and the wine is raised largely in tank and older wood before bottling with modest sulphur.

A complete, mid-weight Bourgueil for roast pork, duck, mushrooms and soft washed-rind cheese; serve at around 16 degrees.
