Domaine du Gros Noré Bandol Rosé 1.5L MAGNUM 2023

Domaine du Gros Noré Bandol Rosé is a Mourvèdre-based rosé from Alain Pascal's estate at La Cadière-d'Azur, made in the firm, gastronomic Bandol style.

Alain Pascal took the family vines in hand and named the domaine after his father Honoré, known locally as le gros Noré. The eighteen or so hectares lie on the clay and limestone slopes around La Cadière-d'Azur, one of the appellation's best communes, high enough to catch the breeze that runs up from the bay of Bandol and cools the nights. Farming is organic. The rosé is built on Mourvèdre with Grenache and Cinsault, picked ripe rather than early, pressed directly and fermented cool, which gives a wine with more colour, weight and grip than the Provençal norm.

Substantial enough to drink right through a meal, it takes grilled tuna, bouillabaisse and roast chicken; serve at around 10 degrees.
