Domaine du Pélican Arbois Trois Cépages 2023

Domaine du Pélican Arbois Trois Cépages is a Jura red that gathers the region's three red grapes into a single bottle.

The Jura lies between Burgundy and Switzerland, on a band of marl and limestone that once formed the same seabed as the Côte d'Or. Its red grapes are Poulsard, pale-skinned and the most widely planted; Trousseau, which needs the warmest and stoniest sites to ripen; and Pinot Noir, a reminder of how close Burgundy sits. Trois Cépages, as the name says, brings all three together, a long-standing Jura habit that predates the fashion for bottling each variety on its own. Domaine du Pélican was founded in 2012 by Guillaume d'Angerville, whose family holds the Clos des Ducs monopole in Volnay, and the Arbois vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically, hand picked and raised in older barrels.

Serve lightly chilled, at about 14 degrees, with roast poultry, mushroom dishes or charcuterie.
