Domaine Dubost Fleurie 'Le Vivier' 2024

Domaine Dubost Fleurie 'Le Vivier' is a fragrant, light-bodied Gamay from a single named site in the Fleurie cru.

Based at Lantignié in northern Beaujolais, the family farms across several crus as well as Beaujolais-Villages. This is the most perfumed of the ten, with vineyards on decomposed pink granite that give lift, fine tannin and a floral edge. Picking is by hand, as it must be throughout the region, and the whole-bunch, semi-carbonic ferment keeps extraction gentle and the aromatics fresh. Ageing in tank and older wood, with little or no new oak, lets the granite character come straight through.

Light in body but full of flavour, with red cherry, violets and a chalky, savoury finish. Good lightly chilled, 13–15°C, with charcuterie, roast chicken or grilled salmon.
