Description
Domaine Dugat-Py Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes is a grand cru white from old vines on the hill of Corton.
Corton-Charlemagne wraps around the upper slopes of the Corton hill above Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses, and is one of Burgundy's great white grands crus. Bernard Dugat-Py and his son Loïc work from cellars in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, part of which occupy a medieval tithe building. The domaine is small, farmed organically and known for severe crop levels. Whites are pressed in whole bunches, fermented and matured in barrel and bottled in small quantities. Quantities are tiny.
Give it time in the cellar; serve at about 12 degrees with lobster, roast chicken or veal.
