Domaine Dugat-Py Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru "Sous Frétille" Vieilles Vignes Blanc is a premier cru white from old vines on the hill of Corton.
Sous Frétille faces east and south-east on the slope above the village of Pernand-Vergelesses, close to Corton-Charlemagne. Bernard Dugat-Py and his son Loïc work from cellars in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, part of which occupy a medieval tithe building. The domaine is small, farmed organically and known for severe crop levels. Whites are pressed in whole bunches, fermented and matured in barrel and bottled in small quantities.
Serve at about 12 degrees with roast fish, poultry or veal; it will reward a few years in the cellar.
