Domaine Dugat-Py Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Folatières" is a premier cru white from one of Puligny's largest and best-known vineyards.
Les Folatières climbs the slope above the village of Puligny-Montrachet, just north of the grands crus. Bernard Dugat-Py and his son Loïc work from cellars in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, part of which occupy a medieval tithe building. The domaine is small, farmed organically and known for severe crop levels. Whites are pressed in whole bunches, fermented and matured in barrel and bottled in small quantities.
Serve at about 12 degrees with scallops, roast chicken or richer fish dishes; it will reward several years in the cellar.
