Domaine Dureuil-Janthial Rully 1er Cru Le Meix Cadot Blanc comes from a walled parcel planted in 1980 in the largest of Rully's premiers crus.

Rully is the northernmost village of the Côte Chalonnaise and makes rather more white than red. Le Meix Cadot is its largest premier cru, sitting on a small plateau east of the village; the name comes from meix, meaning farm, and Cadot, a common surname in southern Burgundy. Dureuil-Janthial controls 1.71 hectares in a chalky part of the climat, enclosed by walls and well suited to Chardonnay. The soils are clay and limestone and have been worked organically for many years. Despite the sunny exposure the wine is never opulent; Vincent Dureuil aims instead at tension and detail, and the wine is frequently described as satiny, with a fleshy palate framed by citrus and white flowers. It stands as this domaine's answer to a good Meursault Genevrières.

Approachable at two years and good for a decade. Serve at 10-12°C with roast chicken, grilled snapper or a creamy cheese.
