Description
Description
Domaine Faiveley Bourgogne Chardonnay is a regional white Burgundy from one of the oldest family houses on the Côte d'Or.
Bourgogne is the appellation that covers the region as a whole, and in the hands of a serious domaine it is usually drawn from younger vines and from parcels that sit just outside the village boundaries, which is why it so often shows above its station. Faiveley was founded at Nuits-Saint-Georges in 1825 and has stayed in the same family ever since, seven generations now, with holdings that run from Chablis in the north to the Côte Chalonnaise in the south. The Chardonnay is pressed gently and matured in a combination of tank and barrel, with new oak kept firmly in the background.
Serve at around 11 degrees as an aperitif or with white fish, goat's cheese or a simple onion tart; drink it within a few years.
