Description

Domaine Goisot Bourgogne Côtes d'Auxerre Corps de Garde Rouge is the red counterpart to the domaine's old-vine white.

Pinot Noir in the Auxerrois is grown on the same Kimmeridgian limestone as the Chardonnay, and in this northern corner of Burgundy it keeps a lean, savoury line. The cuvée is named for the family's fourteenth-century underground guardhouse, now part of the cellar. Jean-Hugues and Ghislaine Goisot farm biodynamically at Saint-Bris.

Decant briefly and serve at 15 degrees with roast duck, mushrooms, charcuterie or a soft washed-rind cheese.
