Description
Domaine Goisot La Gondonne is a single-vineyard Bourgogne Côtes d'Auxerre planted with massale cuttings taken from Chablis grand cru Les Clos.
The Côtes d'Auxerre lies west of Chablis around Saint-Bris-le-Vineux, and Goisot farms it biodynamically. La Gondonne sits on denser soils of blue clay, marl and limestone, thick with the small comma-shaped exogyra virgula fossils found across the Yonne. The vines came from cuttings taken in the Les Clos holdings of the Raveneau and Dauvissat families, both long-standing friends of the Goisots, and were planted here precisely because the family believe this is the closest the Côtes d'Auxerre comes to that grand cru site. Of the three single-vineyard bottlings it is usually the most complex and by some distance the most structured wine in the cellar, which is why it takes longer to open up than the others.
Best given two to three years and good for a decade. Serve at 10-12°C with roast chicken, grilled fish or a comté tart.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
