Description
Domaine la Réméjeanne La Bulle is a certified organic traditional-method sparkling wine from the southern Rhône, bottled as Vin de France.
Réméjeanne sits in the Côtes du Rhône on the western side of the valley, near Sabran in the Gard, where the Klein family has built a reputation for supple reds and, more recently, serious whites. This is only the second release of their sparkling wine, a blend of Clairette at half the assemblage with a quarter each of Roussanne and Grenache Blanc, drawn from the cooler, east-facing sites of the estate. The fruit for the base wines is pressed as whole bunches and fermented with natural yeasts, then rests on fine lees in concrete for six months before bottling. After the prise de mousse the wine spends a year on cork before disgorgement, carried out here in April 2023, with dosage of 3.2 g/L. Farming across the domaine is certified organic.
Drink over the next three or four years; serve at 8°C as an aperitif or with fried whitebait, goat's cheese tart or grilled prawns.
