Description
Domaine Le Guellec-Ducouet Gevrey-Chambertin Les Jeunes Rois is a village red from a named climat in Gevrey-Chambertin, on the Côte de Nuits.
Les Jeunes Rois lies in the northern sweep of village vineyard at Gevrey-Chambertin, towards the Brochon end of the commune along the foot of the slope. Gevrey is the largest wine commune of the Côte d'Or and the one with the deepest history, worked by the monks of the abbey of Bèze from the seventh century and home to nine grands crus, among them Chambertin and Chambertin-Clos de Bèze. Soils across the village land run from limestone and marl on the slope to deeper, stonier ground washed down from the combes. The wine is Pinot Noir alone, hand harvested, fermented in open vats and matured in French oak barrels.
It suits duck, pigeon, mushroom dishes and mature cheeses; serve at around 16 degrees. Give it a few years in bottle, and expect it to hold for the better part of a decade.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
