Description
Domaine Les Pallières Au Petit Bonheur Rosé is a southern Rhone rosé from one of the oldest estates in Gigondas.
Les Pallières sits at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, the jagged limestone ridge that shelters Gigondas from the north, and its vineyards climb high onto stony terraces where altitude keeps the fruit fresher than the valley floor below. The property is among the longest established in the commune and was bought in 1998 by the Brunier brothers of Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, together with the American importer Kermit Lynch, who have farmed it since. The rosé is built around Grenache with Cinsault and a little Clairette, the classic southern Rhone trio for pink wine, and is made in a dry, savoury style rather than a pale commercial one.
Serve well chilled, at 8 to 10C, with grilled fish, tapenade, ratatouille, charcuterie or a long summer lunch.
