Domaine Naturaliste Le Naturaliste Cabernet Franc 2019

Domaine Naturaliste Le Naturaliste Cabernet Franc is the top red in Bruce Dukes' Margaret River range, made entirely from Cabernet Franc.

In this part of Western Australia, Cabernet Franc usually plays a supporting role in blends, so bottling it alone at the top of the range says a lot about how the winemaker rates the grape. He trained in California and made wine for many other local producers before settling on his own label. Selected fruit goes into French oak to build a structured red for the cellar.

Fragrant and savoury, with a firm frame. Give it an hour or so in a decanter, then serve at 16–18°C with roast lamb, duck or aged hard cheeses. It will also reward cellaring.
