Domaine Naturaliste Le Naturaliste Cabernet Franc 2022

Domaine Naturaliste Le Naturaliste Cabernet Franc is a savoury, firmly built Cabernet Franc from Margaret River, at the very top of the range.

Few producers in the district trust Cabernet Franc to stand alone, since it's normally a blending grape here. This bottling is a statement of confidence. Only selected fruit is used, and French oak gives it the structure to age. Behind it is Bruce Dukes, a California-trained winemaker who has also made wine for a long list of other local wineries.

Open it early: an hour or so in the decanter helps the fragrance and savoury notes come through. Roast lamb, duck and aged hard cheeses all work, served at 16–18°C, and it has the structure for the cellar.
