Domaine Pierre Labet Meursault Les Tillets comes from one of the village’s highest lieux-dits, on the white marl above Les Narvaux.

Meursault is the largest white wine commune of the Côte de Beaune, and although it has no grand cru, its best lieux-dits are followed as closely as many premier crus. Les Tillets sits high on the slope above Les Narvaux, where thin white marl soils and a cooler, later-ripening exposure translate into wines of clipped precision rather than breadth. Roulot also farms in Les Tillets, and both Germain and Benjamin Leroux are strong in this high-country sector of the commune. François Labet, who runs Domaine Pierre Labet alongside Château de la Tour in the Clos de Vougeot, describes the site as more Puligny than Meursault, which is a fair guide to the style: firm, fine-boned and driven by acidity as much as by weight.

Best given three to five years and good for a decade. Serve at 10-12°C with roast chicken, scallops or a mushroom and gruyère tart.
