Domaine Raoul Gautherin & Fils Chablis 1er Cru 'Montmains' is a Chardonnay from one of the more elegant, left-bank premier cru vineyards of the Chablis appellation.

Montmains lies among the cluster of premier crus on the left bank of the Serein, facing the famous grand cru hillside, where cooler exposures and Kimmeridgian limestone-clay soils tend to produce fine-boned, precise wines. The vineyard is farmed by Domaine Raoul Gautherin & Fils, a Gautherin family estate based in the village of Chablis with roots stretching back centuries, today run by Alain and Adrien Gautherin. The domaine tends parcels across all four tiers of the Chablis appellation, working the land in a rigorous, reasoned and sustainable way to let the region's distinctive limestone terroir speak for itself.

Refined and mineral-driven, it is a classic expression of premier cru Chablis, well suited to oysters, shellfish and other seafood.
