Domaine Roblet-Monnot Volnay 1er Cru 'Brouillards' 2020

Domaine Roblet-Monnot Volnay 1er Cru 'Brouillards' is a premier cru Pinot Noir from Brouillards, a climat in Volnay, one of the most elegant red wine villages of the Côte de Beaune.

The Volnay estate traces back to 1865, when Victor Delagrange first planted vines here; Pascal Roblet took over in 1990, renamed it Domaine Roblet-Monnot and became one of the region's early adopters of biodynamic farming, converting in 1997. Vines are planted at high density and kept to low yields, with some parcels still ploughed by horse to protect the soil, and grapes are hand-sorted before a long, gentle vinification with extended ageing in barrel prior to unfined, unfiltered bottling.

Refined and silky in the way Volnay is known for, this is a food-friendly red suited to roast poultry, mushroom dishes and softer cheeses.
