Description
Domaine Roblet-Monnot Volnay 'Saint-François' is a village-level Pinot Noir blended from several named parcels across Volnay, and named by Pascal Roblet in honour of his father, François.
The Volnay estate traces back to 1865, when Victor Delagrange first planted vines here; Pascal Roblet took over in 1990, renamed it Domaine Roblet-Monnot and became one of the region's early adopters of biodynamic farming, converting in 1997. Vines are planted at high density and kept to low yields, with some parcels still ploughed by horse to protect the soil, and grapes are hand-sorted before a long, gentle vinification with extended ageing in barrel prior to unfined, unfiltered bottling.
An easy-drinking, honest expression of the appellation, this is a versatile red for roast poultry, charcuterie and casual weeknight dining.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
