Domaine Rossignol-Février Bourgogne Blanc 2022

Domaine Rossignol-Février Bourgogne Blanc is a white Burgundy from a small family domaine in the Côte de Beaune.

The Rossignol name has been attached to Volnay for generations, and several branches of the family run domaines in and around the village, of which Rossignol-Février is one. Bourgogne Blanc is the regional appellation of the Côte d'Or, drawn from parcels that fall outside the named village boundaries, often on flatter ground below the slope or at its upper edge. In careful hands it is among the more rewarding corners of Burgundy, because the grape is the same Chardonnay, grown on the fringes of the same communes and vinified in the same cellar by the same people as wines carrying grander labels, usually with a spell in older barrel and full malolactic fermentation before bottling.

It suits roast chicken, soft cheeses and simply cooked fish, and is best served lightly chilled rather than cold, at around 12 degrees.
