Domaine Santa Duc Gigondas 'Les Hautes Garrigues' 1.5L MAGNUM 2021

Domaine Santa Duc Gigondas 'Les Hautes Garrigues' is a full-bodied old-vine Grenache blend from high, stony ground in Gigondas, here in magnum.

Old Grenache vines on the loftiest, rockiest parts of the estate supply the core, with Mourvèdre and Syrah filling out the blend. Altitude and limestone scree below the Dentelles de Montmirail give the fruit freshness and grip. The domaine made its modern name under Yves Gras and is farmed organically and biodynamically. Hand-picked and wild-fermented, the wine is aged in large vessels and older barrels, so there's no vanilla gloss over the herbs and structure.

Dark berries, wild herbs and dusty tannin; give it a decant. Magnums age slowly, so there's no hurry. Serve at 17–18°C with lamb or a daube.
