Description
Domaine Séguinot-Bordet Chablis Grand Cru 'Les Preuses' is a rare top-tier Chardonnay from one of Chablis's most historic family estates.
The Bordet family has farmed vines around Maligny, just north of the town of Chablis, since at least 1590, and the domaine is now run by Jean-François Bordet under High Environmental Value certification, with no chemical treatments used in the vineyard. Les Preuses is one of the seven Grand Cru climats that sit together on a single south-west-facing slope above the town of Chablis, its shallow Kimmeridgian limestone soils responsible for some of the appellation's most concentrated and long-lived wines. The domaine raises its Grand Cru fruit with restraint, favouring minimal oak and extended lees contact in stainless steel to let the site's rare limestone terroir show through.
A powerful, age-worthy white, it rewards cellaring and suits special-occasion pairings with richer seafood, poultry and mature cheeses.
