Description
Domaine Stéphane Magnien Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru "Faconnières" is a red Burgundy from a premier cru vineyard on the border of Gevrey-Chambertin, in one of the Côte de Nuits' quieter but highly regarded village appellations.
Morey-Saint-Denis sits between the famous villages of Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, and its premier cru climats, including Les Faconnières, share the limestone-and-marl soils that give the Côte de Nuits its reputation for structured, long-lived Pinot Noir. Domaine Stéphane Magnien is a small family estate based in the heart of the village, where Stéphane Magnien farms a collection of old parcels by hand, favouring gentle extraction and careful oak ageing so that the character of each individual site comes through in the glass.
A refined, terroir-driven red built for the cellar as much as the table, it suits classic Burgundian fare such as roast duck, coq au vin or a well-aged Comté.
