Domaine Vincent Dancer Meursault Les Grands Charrons 2023

Les Grands Charrons is a village lieu-dit in the group that includes Les Gouttes d'Or, and Dancer's vines there were planted in 1958.

Meursault's village vineyards vary widely, and a handful of lieux-dits on the northern side of the commune are held in particularly high regard; Les Grands Charrons sits among them, close to Les Gouttes d'Or, the site made famous by Lafon and more recently by Arnaud Ente. Vincent Dancer has a small 0.29-hectare parcel here, planted in 1958, and the age of the vines together with the domaine's low yields is reflected in the intensity and saline character of the wine. The whites at this address are pressed whole, fermented with indigenous yeasts, given very little new oak and left long on lees, an approach that keeps the wines transparent and quite tightly wound in youth.

Give it two or three years and drink over the following decade. Serve at 10-12°C with roast chicken, grilled scallops or comté.
