Domaine Vincent Dureuil-Janthial Rully Rouge En Guesnes is a single-vineyard red from one of the better-sited parcels in the village.

Rully lies at the northern end of the Côte Chalonnaise, just south of the Côte de Beaune, and its slopes carry the same limestone and marl in a slightly cooler, more open setting. Vincent Dureuil-Janthial farms around eighteen hectares from the village and is generally counted among the region's most exacting growers. En Guesnes is a parcel of Pinot Noir on the mid-slope, hand picked at low yields and largely destemmed before a fermentation on indigenous yeasts with gentle extraction. Ageing takes place in barrel over roughly a year, with new oak used sparingly so that it frames rather than flavours the wine. The style is precise and savoury, with the fine tannin the domaine is known for.

Approachable after a year or two and good for several more. Serve at 16–18°C with roast pork, coq au vin or a soft washed-rind cheese.
