Domaine Vincent Girardin Bourgogne Aligoté 2024

Domaine Vincent Girardin Bourgogne Aligoté is a crisp, light-bodied Burgundy white made entirely from Aligoté.

Burgundy's other white grape grows across the Côte d'Or and the Hautes-Côtes, usually on land not given to village Chardonnay, and it's having a real revival as growers treat it better. The Meursault-based domaine farms organically and biodynamically and gives its regional wines the same care as its crus: hand picking, whole-bunch pressing, slow settling and a long élevage on fine lees. Tank and older wood keep the fruit clear and the acid intact.

Bright and dry, with taut citrus, orchard fruit and a chalky, salty finish. Serve well chilled at 8-10°C with oysters, grilled prawns, fresh goat's cheese or charcuterie.
