Domaine Vincent Girardin Meursault 1er Cru 'Genevrières' 2023

Domaine Vincent Girardin Meursault 1er Cru 'Genevrières' is a full-bodied white Burgundy from one of the three great premiers crus of Meursault.

Mid-slope on the south side of the village, next to Perrières and Charmes, stony limestone drains hard and keeps yields low. Of the three, this is usually the most floral, pairing Meursault's breadth with a finer mineral finish. The domaine is based right in Meursault and farms organically and biodynamically; whole bunches are pressed, settled cold, then fermented and aged in barrel on full lees with little stirring and restrained new oak. A long élevage helps it wear its concentration lightly.

White peach, citrus zest and a long salty finish, rich yet finely drawn. Pour at 11-13°C with lobster, roast poultry, veal or mushroom risotto, and give young bottles half an hour in the glass.
