Domaine Vincent Latour Meursault 1er Cru Charmes 2021

Domaine Vincent Latour Meursault 1er Cru Charmes is a rich, finely balanced white Burgundy from one of Meursault's best-known premier cru vineyards.

This family domaine is based in Meursault, in the Côte de Beaune, and works with several of the village's vineyards. Charmes is among the largest premier crus in the appellation, running down the slope towards the border with Puligny-Montrachet, and its deeper soils tend to give generous, rounded wines. As is traditional in Meursault, the Chardonnay is fermented and aged in oak barrels, adding a buttery, nutty richness. This bottling shows a shiny gold colour, mineral and buttery aromas, and a rich yet fine, well-balanced palate.

Serve at around 12 degrees, slightly warmer than a typical white, and consider a short decant. Try it with lobster in butter sauce, veal with a creamy morel sauce or a wedge of aged Comté. It should age well for several years.
