Domaine Yves Cuilleron Saint Joseph 'Les Serines' Syrah 2024

Domaine Yves Cuilleron Saint Joseph 'Les Serines' Syrah is a rich, concentrated red made from the estate's oldest vines.

Serine is the local strain of Syrah, kept alive by massale selection, and these old plantings give small berries with deep colour. Harvest is by hand, maceration runs three weeks in open vats on indigenous yeasts with very little added, and the barrel ageing lasts a year and a half.

An intense nose of dark fruit, spice and liquorice leads to a dense, rounded palate with silky tannins and a long mineral close. Decant, serve at 17°C, and pair with roast lamb shoulder or slow-braised oxtail.
