Domaine Yves Cuilleron Saint Joseph 'Lieu-Dit Digue' Roussanne 2024

Domaine Yves Cuilleron Saint Joseph 'Lieu-Dit Digue' is a single-site Roussanne from the right bank of the northern Rhône.

Planted entirely to Roussanne, this named parcel is bottled on its own; the grape is the more aromatic of the appellation's two whites, and the harder to ripen. Yves Cuilleron took on the small family holding at Chavanay in the late 1980s and has grown it into a wide-ranging northern Rhône operation, with parcels in Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie as well. Pressed as whole bunches, the wine ferments and ages in French barrels with lees stirring, which builds texture while the granite keeps the finish taut.

Creamy but firm, with white peach, honeysuckle and a dry, mineral close. Serve at 10–12°C with roast chicken, scallops, veal or a soft washed-rind cheese.
