Domaine Yves Cuilleron Saint Joseph 'Lombard' Old Vine Marsanne 2025

Domaine Yves Cuilleron Saint Joseph 'Lombard' Old Vine Marsanne is a powerful, dry white from the right bank of the northern Rhône.

Old vines give small crops of concentrated, slow-ripening fruit, and these grow in the heart of the appellation near Chavanay. White wine is a small part of production here, from Marsanne and Roussanne on granite, in a district better known for Syrah. Yves Cuilleron has been the driving force since the mid-1980s and farms sustainably. After whole-bunch pressing, the wine is fermented and aged in oak barrels, a modest share new, with regular lees stirring for weight before a dry bottling.

Layered and quietly powerful, with honeyed stone fruit reined in by a dry, mineral finish. It will develop for several years. Serve at 11–13°C with roast veal, lobster, mushroom risotto or aged hard cheese.
