Domaine Yves Cuilleron Saint-Péray 'Potiers' Marsanne Roussanne is a fresh, precise white from the southern end of the northern Rhône.

Opposite Valence, below the ruins of the Château de Crussol, vines grow on granite and limestone slopes a little higher, and with cooler nights, than the crus upstream. This is the only appellation in the region devoted wholly to white wine, and the extra freshness helps Marsanne and Roussanne keep their acidity. The estate farms sustainably here as in its other holdings. Marsanne leads; the wine is whole-bunch pressed, fermented and aged in barrel on fine lees, with little new oak.

Lightly creamy and precise, with white peach, citrus and a taut, dry finish. Try it at 10–12°C with grilled fish, chicken in white sauce, goat's cheese or antipasti.
