Domaines Schlumberger Pinot Blanc Les Princes Abbes 2023

Domaines Schlumberger Les Princes Abbés Pinot Blanc comes from the steep terraced slopes above Guebwiller in southern Alsace.

Alsace sits in the rain shadow of the Vosges mountains, which makes it one of the driest parts of France, and the slopes at Guebwiller are steep enough that much of the work is done by hand or winch. Schlumberger holds around a hundred and forty hectares here, including large parts of four Grands Crus, and has farmed biodynamically across the estate. Les Princes Abbés is the range named for the abbots who once owned these vineyards, fermented in large old oak casks and left dry.

Serve at 10 degrees with charcuterie, quiche or a tarte flambée. Drink over the next four years.
