Domaines Schlumberger Les Princes Abbés Riesling comes from the steep terraced slopes above Guebwiller.

Alsace sits in the rain shadow of the Vosges mountains, making it one of the driest regions in France, and the slopes at Guebwiller in the far south are steep enough that much of the work is done by hand or winch. Schlumberger holds around a hundred and forty hectares here, including large parts of four Grands Crus, and farms biodynamically. Les Princes Abbés is named for the abbots who once owned the land.

Serve at 10 degrees with trout, pork or a tarte flambée. It develops over eight years.
