Domenica Nebbiolo 2024

Domenica Nebbiolo is a Beechworth take on Piedmont's great red grape, grown in the high granite country of north-east Victoria.

This variety is demanding and ripens late. Here, the altitude and long autumns give it time to build perfume while holding on to its acidity and firm tannin. The family grows Rhône and northern Italian varieties on lean, free-draining ground, keeping yields modest and the winemaking restrained.

Fragrant and medium-bodied, with firm, fine-grained tannins. Decant it, or give it a few years in the cellar, then serve at 16–18°C with mushroom risotto, braised beef or aged hard cheese.
