Dry River Craighall Riesling 2022

Dry River Craighall Riesling is an off-dry, fine-boned Riesling from the Craighall vineyard in Martinborough.

Dry River has made Riesling a speciality since its early days, and the Craighall site, on stony terraces close to Martinborough township, gives wines of real tension. 2022 was a cooler season and the wine reflects it, with lively, almost salty acidity and a light, delicate frame. A touch of residual sugar is left in to balance that acidity, so the wine reads as fresh and off-dry more than sweet. The winery expects it to keep developing in bottle for around ten years.

Serve well chilled and give it a little time in the glass to open. Its gentle sweetness is a good match for Thai salads, chilli prawns, pork with apple or a plate of prosciutto and melon.
